This was an unusual time travel romance, at least I’ve not read anything like it before. I loved this book for the mere fact that it was clean. I her descriptions were spot on, and made you feel like you were actually standing in the Highlands of Scotland. For Madelyn Phillips, Scotland is the land of dreams, filled with magic, romance, and handsome Highland lords.


This is one of my favorite from Kurland. Various family members have traveled to modern-day Scotland from their home in the 13th century Highlands. I enjoyed this book, although I thought it dragged a little towards the end.

I want them all and beg her to keep writing. Why should we hate Gilbert? I felt the book dragged quite a bit to do so much inner dialog in the beginning and end. It would have made a lot more sense if she had dumped him and he followed her there to try and win her back, IMO After awhile his character is kind of dropped from the story and a new villain is introduced.

What further strains credulity is that her ex is painted as being so obviously dreadful that anyone who comes into brief contact with him can easily discern his sliminess, and yet the supposedly brilliant Madeleyn fell for him. There were just a few things that really kept me from loving this book. Unfortunately, no matter how hard he tried to work things out with his ex she made things unbearable for him and on top of that committed suicide when things didn’t work out with her lover.

There are no discussion topics on this book yet. The two main characters had great chemistry right from the start and I really liked Patrick, the Scottish Highland gaarden traveller. Few things relax me the way that this story does. She thinks her dreaming is in vain until she sees a man standing on a windswept moor, a Highlander full of secrets and longing, and knows she has seen her destiny.

But his marriage ended up being a travesty when he found out his wife was being unfaithful and was bearing another man’s child. I really liked the tain of the book. I have another one here to read, When I Fall in Love and have no idea gafden book it is.

Third, the bad guys were kind of disappointing. It was such and endearing story. Madelyn Phillips is caught in the middle of the ultimate traveling nightmare. It totally skipped the sex scenes, which is fine with me, but the romance was great.
