Provides that rebates payable in respect of members leu money purchase contracted-out pension schemes are to be payable out of the National Insurance Fund. Enables functions relating to these matters in respect to Northern Ireland to be transferred to the Secretary of State, the Commissioners of Inland Revenue or the Treasury.
Directs that earnings factors relevant to the calculation of the additional pension in the rate of any long-term benefit or of any guaranteed minimum pension or to any other calculation required under the Pension Schemes Act for the tax years specified in the Order are to be increased by the percentage of their amount specified in the Schedule of the Order. The scheme relates to persons who have been claiming income support, unemployment benefit or jobseeker’s allowance leey a combination of benefits and who fulfil the criteria relating to age, the period over which they have been receiving benefit and location of appropriate offices which they are required to attend.
Establishes the time and manner in which that information is to be provided. Inserts a new rule which makes provision for the Pensions Ombudsman to pay travel and subsistence 25987 and compensation for lost earnings in certain cases to those who attend oral hearings.
Also applicable to certain 2589 categories of persons such as self-employed workers, lawers, artists, diplomats, etc.

Amends the Statutory Maternity Pay Compensation of Employers and Miscellaneous Amendment Regulations in order to enable an employer to recover payments of statutory maternity pay and, if he or she is a small employer, an additional amount in respect of such pay.
