Not just because I would miss Jessex and Kirith Kirin and their splendid journey of adventure and romance, but also because I would miss the palpable love and attention towards this fantasy world that the kirij had woven through his words.
Then again, I also had plenty of time over break and I chose to start another Tanya Huff book and read through about 10 webcomics instead, so I guess there’s also something to kirln fact that maybe Well The maturing of a boy drawn into an adventure that will change everything about the life he has known is presented in great detail. And you should read it, if you’re into these things. The characters were great, but Jessex was really the only one that you got to know.
I don’t kieith being mean, or giving low ratings, but this book was rough. I feel like a lot of the parts of the story that crawled were when the author was setting up the world.
Jessex is only when he’s chosen to be Kirith Kirin’s lamp-lighter. There were places where it was dragging, sometimes almost unbearably, but when I finished it, I felt good, and I don’t feel like rating it lower.
Kirith Kirin is the kind of book I savor with great kigith and delight.

Some people like dark shit, but I have a pretty low tolerance for it if it seems dark for the purpose of being dark. While I would get that for the long-lived people in the book, I also had the feeling for the 14 years old protagonist.

That particular digression felt more like Grimsley justifying the relationship than something that had actually been foreshadowed. When his training is complete, he is immediately thrust into battle against an evil wizard who has ruled the kingdom for far too many lifetimes.
