This Very Short Introduction looks at the phenomenon of international human migration — both legal and illegal — to reveal that migration actually presents opportunities that must be taken advantage of in light of the current economic climate. This is one of those fields that a curious adult without any specific training is likely to know something about, but only in bits and pieces, with some obsolete info and some outright errors mixed in.
There is also virtually no historical context given within the book, but for me, that’s fine because there’s plenty of that in other texts and a modern perspective is more of what I was looking for.
Good start Good overview of migration. This short study provides a good introduction to what are migrants be they international, internal, legal and irregular.
