First off I have to completely disagree with some reviewers who stated that the book was gory and had too much degradation of women and children in the beginning. You knew them just as well as the main characters, but within shorter amounts of scenes, which lends itself to the ability of the author to be able to create and present such well developed characters!!

The sparring between Akira and Calin had me laughing. Also by Kimberly Killion: She loves her family, anticipates finally meeting her benefactor who has helped take care of her all these years.

I reread this book often and I love Akiras and Calins relationship. Is the beginning a pleasant beginning, no it’s sad and probably not as hope filled as other kilion novels but in my opinion its more realistic. I felt lost in a world of highland warriors and lady’s in need of rescuing. Somehow my immediate reaction was to imagine a baby transplanted from Japan… The dragon part refers to her birthmark?
