While critics continue aubusten challenge the veracity of Burroughs’s augsuten, questioning everything from his alcoholism and advertising career to his earliest childhood memories, the author remains nonplussed, even philosophical. Augusten’s second book was a memoir.

Burroughs had me laughing and nearly crying all in the space of pages! Instead you spend lots of time in burroighs recovery process. After Burroughs misses an important meeting with a client his boss gives him an ultimatum: Losses, Journeys, and Ascensions: First off, 30 days of rehab no longer sounds like fun. Popmatters is wholly independently owned and operated. But slowly he starts to realize how much he needs help a new, hot guy at AA doesn’t hurt, either.

Still, he doesn’t wallow in it, and regardless of the back story, this is a tale of addiction, recovery and lots of what happens in between. It takes many real events, and some not so real, and creates a vivid picture we can all see.
