It is smart, and thoughtful, and deep, and apocalyptic. We see all this through Larry’s eyes.
At the end, the protagonist reflects on the surf, and its endlessly repeating cycle. Getting wrapped up in the story like I did, I was able to imagine what this would have been like, and let me tell you it wasn’t pretty.
A pretty good interpretation of Stephen King’s “The Stand” in graphic novel form I remember it feeling rushed and slow at the same time.
Around the Year i The first pages or so is all set up, following various, unconnected characters whom — it turns out — are impervious to the superflu. Phew, my burden was taken from me now, and I can breath normally at last.
I liked Tom Cullen and was dismayed by their plan to send him as a spy–which was going to work out because King planned it that way, don’t kong know? Books by Stephen King. But we’ll see what happens The beginning of the chapter I get with Starkey and stuff.

Perhaps King is a believer of a god. Yes, the main reason this book is a borewas dragged-out plot.

After the success of The Dark Tower comics, both critically and from fans of Stepgen original works, Marvel looked toward another King classic to adapt and turned to the post-apocalyptic world of The Stand. I’m almost tempted to read The Stand again since it would be more gratifying than waiting for the rest of this series to be released. It is Manichaean, conveniently ascribing the presence of evil to the existence of a devil incarnate; conversely, we bsproeving assured that a beneficent God takes over peoples bodies to use them as mouthpieces with astonishing frequency, performs miracles, speaks to us through dreams, and otherwise manifests Himself through people so good we should trust their every word and all but fall in worship at their feet.
Not exactly a focal point this time around, the Dark Man’s influence and appearances in the character’s nightmares still lingers in the background.
This book is good. If you consider yourself a King fan, you really have no excuse. I’m just not that big a fan of his prose The irony of many of Stu’s thoughts is not lost on me, but it gave this “cheep scare” more weight. The first time, I could hardly stand any of them. The first part was quite boring until the infection became widespread. I think Aguirre-Sacasa has done a world class job.
