One of my favourite community building projects is Leefstraten living streetsin which a bunch of streets are being made traffic-free, all summer long. But hip developments aside, Ghent has retained its strong character, and a lot of the new spots are the same old places but with new, young owners. Dead during daytime, more and more alive as the night proceeds. In this pub, hidden in one of the side-arms of the Overpoortstraat, you will always find an ESN member or two.
