Also, I don’t think that sheep was enjoying herself one bit. BTG spends most of his time in a tiny Tasmanian hamlet. They may only understand some of it, but they will like the pictures. I was fully prepared to love this book. Australian Booksellers Association Book of the Year Reading it now I can fully appreciate it.

The photos are, although I would have preferred they shift from greyscale to full color once the mood of the book shifted, but the captions are just sort of Its vehicle is charming black-and-white photographs of rtevor that are strangely human and completely free of judgment or pretension.

There is a page in this book, with a lion laying in the grass, that perfectly describes one of the ways serious depression can feel. They acknowledge that some days really suck and that’s super true and the photos are very well-matched, but then the narrative is “shake it off and find a romantic partner” as if it’s that easy.
The humble marriage of easy text and beautiful images takes us through the entire evolution of a blue day — examines what it feels gook, what causes it, and how to get boom it.
Trevlr I normally wouldn’t invest much thought in this type of party favor book, I feel very strongly that “self help” books like this do a great disservice to someone who is braley struggling, especially with a broken heart, and picks up this little emotional time bomb.
So worth reading, for everyone, and such special, worthwhile gifts! It’s about having a blue day obviously and all the funny pictures with tag lines, about why we have bad days, were hilarious.
A definite smile maker! I just don’t know why there’s this sense of “if you can find someone to kiss you everything will be all right,” because quite often what pulls you out grwive a funk is a friend who makes you laugh a lot or the way you remember the xay of sunlight or something equally as platonic.

View bravley 8 comments. Often times just seeing that silly frog dy the cover warms my heart up. See 2 questions about The Blue Day Book…. But that just completely ruined it for me. Several of which have appeared in the New York Times bestseller list. A former Australian paratrooper, BTG left the army to pursue more creative misadventures.

I’m lucky enough to have a partner who truly is my light on those bad days, but I think this book would have made me feel even worse if I didn’t. I had been diagnosed a few years earlier with a rare neurologic disease that left me in constant pain and unable to work. Once we got past those pages of sap, it was really good again.
As prescribed by The Blue Day Book in its delightful photo and text messages, the ble is to see each incident in perspective, recognize that our feelings obok failure and lbue are not unique, and acknowledge the absurdities of our existence, and glory in the potential we all have.
He has been bitten by wild monkeys and rabid bats and was accepted into Russia’s cosmonaut training program–though those incidents were, by and large, unrelated.
And because we all still have bad days now and then, the time is right for a commemorative tenth-anniversary edition of this uniquely funny, compassionate book trrevor inspired an entire genre of uplifting gift books.

A would-be author who had almost as many rejection letters from publishers as he had birthdays, he was feeling empty, forlorn, and about to give up. Hardcover92 pages. I would recommend it to everyone who likes animals and needs a little “pick me up”.
He lives mostly in Tasmania, Australia. A good read for a blue day. This is a short inspirational picture book with text. It’s a cute little book that’s lighthearted and can put a smile on your face when you feel down in the bluee. Grey is all most animals see, he thought to himself, and they seem OK with it.

This is a fun and short book. You know, I never would have thought of myself saying this, but the Internet has overtaken my appreciation for this book. I think it was cute cute and intriguing especially in the first half.
