The suspense of every additional object thrown up the tree is supported by the beautiful illustrations complementing the free-flowing font of text. I read a pre-pub review and thought it sounded really cute, possibly even storytime material.

I like the set-ups: Jeffers’s books are like Pixar movies. This book was not for me.

Preview — Stuck by Oliver Jeffers. This is a fantastic book for kids who like funny, silly stories. It all begins when Floyd’s kite is stuck in a tree. An appealing book about a boy who gets his kite stuck up in the tree and has to find various ways to get it out, most of them pretty silly, which had all my kids laughing and shaking their heads.

They are charming, visually stunning, and although I know I’ll love them before I even start reading, I am still surprised by how great they are when they’re done.
