Some of the proofs are quite involved, however, and Aigner presents his material concisely, typically with just one or two illustrative examples of a concept or method, and assumes a general mathematical competence.
I would, however, not recommend it for someone who is going to use it only without any other material because the excercises are a lot tougher. There are exercises, and as a special feature every chapter ends with a highlight, discussing a particularly beautiful or famous result. The Point of No Return.
